I’ve had a complicated relationship with doing the dishes.
Growing up, the family dishwasher always seemed to be working well enough to sanitize, but *just* broken enough to not quite get the job done, so doing the dishes was perpetually on the chore list. We cleaned them by hand and then again through the machine.
After that, my first living space as an adult included one working sink available to me that was located far from my space, and floors away supplying just cold water. Naturally, this made my aversion to doing the dishes significantly worse.
I’ve since upgraded to my cozy little kitchen with hot water and a small, old-school dish drying rack that folds down from its mount on the wall.
My cabinets contain exclusively hand-made pots that each have their own unique background.
I love hand washing my dishes.
I want to make pots that people enjoy taking care of.
